Obviously, <a href=\"https:\/\/2020.spain.wordcamp.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">WordCamp Spain 2020<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As its slogan says: <\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&#8220;Everyone at home and WordPress in everyone&#8217;s home&#8221;<\/p><cite> WP Spain<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ku-seo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Logotipo-WCES-2020.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8747\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_Bit_of_History\"><\/span>A Bit of History<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All WordCamps have a local focus. It&#8217;s a celebration where the community of each city can hold a larger event (once a year) with sponsors and support from the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/make.wordpress.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">foundation<\/a> to organize a non-profit event run altruistically by volunteers, speakers, and attendees who seek:  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(1) Share <strong>knowledge<\/strong> (and get inspired) through talks and <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(2) Do quality <strong>networking<\/strong>, where you can create contacts, friendships, projects, whatever you want. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The goal is to break out of isolation, out of your comfort zone, and create <strong>connections with people<\/strong> who share your same passion and love for this fantastic <em>open source<\/em> tool that helps us become better professionals and even, for many, represents a livelihood. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have written on this blog about <a href=\"https:\/\/ku-seo.com\/categoria\/wordpress\/\" rel=\"noopener\">various WordCamps<\/a> I have had the pleasure of attending in all roles: attendee, speaker, volunteer, organizer. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The magic of WordCamps is that it&#8217;s not a typical marketing event organized by a company with X objectives. It&#8217;s a simpler and more personal event, where there are no hierarchies, and everyone is on the same level.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There&#8217;s something special about them, and anyone who has attended can confirm it. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_is_the_origin_of_WCES_2020\"><\/span>What is the origin of WCES 2020? <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was described by the lead organizer: <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/pablomoratinos.es\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pablo Moratinos<\/a> in an interview with him and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/sacrajaimez.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sacra J\u00e1imez<\/a>, leader of the event&#8217;s marketing team, on <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/wpradio.es\/podcast\/169-wordcamp-spain-2020\/\" target=\"_blank\">WP Radio<\/a>, the podcast with <a href=\"https:\/\/boluda.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Joan Boluda<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joanartes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Joan Art\u00e9s<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apparently it was a seed planted by the great <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/tellado.es\/\" target=\"_blank\">Fernando Tellado<\/a> in the community slack: We deserve a WordCamp Spain! Since all the WordCamps have had to be canceled&#8230; why not do one online? <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In record time they came together, organized, and launched a proposal that from my point of view has exceeded even their own initial objectives (over 3,500 people are already registered).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There were many reservations, I myself had them when I read the conversation on slack. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Keep in mind that doing it online is precisely the opposite of what WordCamps seek: &#8220;to get us away from our laptops,&#8221; to allow us to connect emotionally with other people. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A humble movement suddenly became the opposite, a snowball that kept growing. It became a <strong>symbol<\/strong>, a <strong>sign<\/strong> of hope in uncertain times where the reality of the pandemic forces us to rethink our beliefs.  <\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ku-seo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/WCES-2020-portada-Twitter-1024x341.png\" alt=\"WordCamp Spain 2020\" class=\"wp-image-8760\"\/><figcaption>Spectacular designs from #WCES<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Organizers\"><\/span>Organizers<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Who were the brave ones who stepped forward? <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This entire team of <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/2020.spain.wordcamp.org\/organizadores\/\" target=\"_blank\">organizers<\/a> who I believe deserve our hats off for all the work they are doing. <\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\t<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-gif aligncenter\">\n\t\t<figure>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-gif-wrapper\" style=\"padding-top:42%\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<iframe src=\"https:\/\/giphy.com\/embed\/AeWoyE3ZT90YM\" title=\"thanks\"><\/iframe>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/figure>\n\t<\/div>\n\t\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For me, remote work has been my way of life for years, but being confined, without help with the child, no daycare, no grandparents. That&#8217;s a challenge.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We all have our own circumstances, but this group has given up part of their time, their concerns (in the middle of this crisis) to carry out an event that promises to mark a turning point. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I believe they <strong>deserve all our respect and admiration<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You know what I think? <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What a shame they can&#8217;t get together and take the group photo they deserve! I&#8217;m sure they will&#8230; but in their own way, or in the future, when this disease is just a memory and we can be together again. <\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Talks\"><\/span>Talks<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I decided to participate and submitted a proposal. Having it accepted gave me immense joy. First for the privilege of being part of this story, and second for being on this top panel in each area of knowledge.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you review the <a href=\"https:\/\/2020.spain.wordcamp.org\/programa-wces-2020\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">program<\/a>, it&#8217;s very comprehensive, we have talks on: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Community<\/li><li>Web development and programming<\/li><li>SEO<\/li><li>Marketing<\/li><li>SEM and advertising<\/li><li>Business<\/li><li>Remote work<\/li><li>WPO<\/li><li>WordPress maintenance<\/li><li>Membership sites<\/li><li>Creative writing<\/li><li>WooCommerce<\/li><li>Personal branding<\/li><li>Design<\/li><li>&#8230; and more<\/li><\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s an honor to be part of this program, where I share the spotlight with many professionals I admire greatly.
