A very special day of a unique and inspiring community.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It has been more than three weeks since the <a href=\"https:\/\/sinoficina.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SinOficina<\/a> community held its face-to-face <strong>meeting<\/strong> in <strong>Madrid<\/strong> (March 25), after three years of absence due to the pandemic. I wanted to have written this review earlier, but better late than never. \u00af (\u30c4)_\/\u00af  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this blog there is an evident predominance of reviews of <strong>WordCamps<\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/wajari.com\/en\/categoria\/wordpress-en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">WordPress community<\/a> events, but it was time to give it more variety and what better to start with one of the coolest online communities.  <\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/wajari.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Encuentro-SinOficina-2023-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Bosco Soler in presentation of SinOficina\" class=\"wp-image-10342\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wajari.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Encuentro-SinOficina-2023-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/wajari.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Encuentro-SinOficina-2023-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/wajari.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Encuentro-SinOficina-2023-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/wajari.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Encuentro-SinOficina-2023.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/boscosoler.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bosco Soler<\/a>, without having a great strategy behind it, has created an incredible community that brings together some of the most interesting profiles in the digital world.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With a simple but powerful premise and in Bosco&#8217;s own words:  <\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;<strong>SinOficina is an online coworking<\/strong> that brings together people who work (or want to work) with their own business and from anywhere, providing the tools and environment to <strong>learn, create and grow together<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<cite>Bosco Soler<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The vision that Bosco had, and the <strong>inspiration<\/strong> that he transmits in each of his mailings, his publications, his podcasts. How could you not want to be part of this?  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I just with the profile of people I saw and admired among their ranks, professionals of all kinds with ideas, dreams, projects, come on. A technology and online entrepreneurship geek&#8217;s wet dream.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But what really is an <strong>online community<\/strong>? It is difficult to define. When I came across SinOficina I was already part of the <strong>WordPress<\/strong> community so I might have had some preconceived ideas.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Is it a platform with courses? People? Friendships? events? business? Sure, it has a lot of those things, but its true <strong>value is intangible<\/strong>. True value is intrinsic to human nature, to that need for connection that makes us unique and special.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I joined SinOficina in 2020, right after the pandemic. I found it hard to find the time to <strong>devote to<\/strong> the different conversations that are generated in Discord.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Something similar to the WordPress community happens to me. I adore them and keep them present on Slack, etc, but for me, the real value is when we get together.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Don&#8217;t get me wrong, I love the digital world. I&#8217;ve been working remotely for more than 7 years, I don&#8217;t think I&#8217;ve ever had an &#8220;office&#8221; in classical terms. But what I really enjoy about these communities is being able to see each other, to embrace each other. I need that <strong>personal connection of empathy<\/strong>, to see your gestures, to &#8220;read&#8221; your body language.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You are in front of a computer all day long, you have video conference meetings with clients that you don&#8217;t know most of them and that you will hardly meet.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So getting out of these digital spaces and really connecting with other people becomes a necessity.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I am convinced that even if you are an introvert, your mirror neurons, your <strong>genetic background<\/strong> takes its toll on us in that sense and invites us to relate to each other.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So I love the <strong>community<\/strong>, very occasionally I go through the help channel, the resources channel, the SEO channel, I connect in some live, but I am a &#8220;useless&#8221; member in the sense that I don&#8217;t have the life to be at everything and therefore, my participation is almost anecdotal.  <\/p>\n\t<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-gif aligncenter\">\n\t\t<figure>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-gif-wrapper\" style=\"padding-top:55%\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<iframe src=\"https:\/\/giphy.com\/embed\/tu9eJFoVluYlW\" title=\"refresh\"><\/iframe>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/figure>\n\t<\/div>\n\t\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, as soon as I saw that the face-to-face meetings were back, and taking into account that I was NOT at the first edition, I was on Bosco&#8217;s list that Sunday, waiting like the Big Bang Theory people with their Comic com tickets refreshing the page to buy the ticket for my event.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">150 tickets sold the first week if I am not mistaken with the statistics. So we organized the trip a day before with room for us to catch up on our battles, eating and enjoying a beautiful Friday in <strong>Madrid<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This time Carlos and I shared a more decent Hostel than on <a href=\"https:\/\/tabernawp.com\/wordcamp-madrid-ha-merecido-la-pena-2018-04-25.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">other<\/a> occasions. We are getting older \ud83d\ude09  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I knew I was going to see many people from the Galician community (<a href=\"https:\/\/angelcabaleiro.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Angel Cabaleiro<\/a>,  <a href=\"https:\/\/arquiknowmadas.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Paula Lamata<\/a>,  <a href=\"https:\/\/pablojroca.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pablo Roca<\/a>) and many others from the community of  <strong>WordPress<\/strong> that are part of this family (<a href=\"https:\/\/ibonazkoitia.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ibon Azkoitia<\/a>,  <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/monchomad\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Moncho<\/a>,  <a href=\"https:\/\/angelfplaza.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00c1ngel Plaza<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AngelZinsel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00c1ngel Zinsel<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/nbadiola.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nahuai Badiola<\/a>, who missed seeing you friend, finally, <a href=\"https:\/\/leireroldan.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Leire Roldan<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/sofiacalle.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sofia Calle<\/a>).  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Honestly? They were for two activities, the first one, a <strong>mastermind<\/strong> that, by chance, the groups had much more in common than it seemed.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I was lucky, I loved my group (thank you Maria). The idea of the activity was to get to know each other, express what difficulties we were facing at that moment, receive <strong>feedback<\/strong> from the rest of the group and have this feedback again after two weeks.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In my group I was able to meet: Ana Sitta, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jesusperezsantiago.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jes\u00fas P\u00e9rez Santiago<\/a> (I already knew him from our WordCamp in Pontevedra), <a href=\"https:\/\/mariapolaina.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mar\u00eda Polaina Bustos<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Jaime_Mesa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Jaime Mesa<\/a> (the crack of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecommpills.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">eCommPills<\/a>) and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/xiscoaf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Xisco Acu\u00f1as Ferrer<\/a> (works in marketing at Don Dominio).  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I felt very identified on an emotional level with <strong>Ana&#8217;<\/strong>s situation. I was delighted to put a face to <strong>Jaime<\/strong>, who I follow through his newsletter; I was fascinated by the reflections of <strong>Mar\u00eda Polaina<\/strong>, a very lucid, creative and funny mind.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I really enjoyed learning more about <strong>Jes\u00fas<\/strong>&#8216; project, and getting to know <strong>Xisco<\/strong>, who I believe can bring incredible things to his company.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We all had VERY different profiles, but in some ways we shared much more than we seemed to. This SinOficina team is brilliant. It was one of the activities I enjoyed the most at the event.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_contest\"><\/span>The contest<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They created a question and answer contest using <a href=\"https:\/\/ahaslides.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AhaSlides<\/a> to see who was the person who best knew the ins and outs of the projects and people that are part of SinOficina.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The dynamic was fun to no end. A standing desk from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tablakala.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tablakala<\/a>, one of the sponsors, was raffled.  <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"es\" dir=\"ltr\">Pero a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mariasajim?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"noopener\">@mariasajim<\/a> se le ocurri\u00f3 organizar un juego de preguntas para premiar al \u2728 true sinoficiner \u2728\u00a0<br><br>Y ese fue <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/juanmagm95?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"noopener\">@juanmagm95<\/a> (que no <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JuanMagan?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"noopener\">@JuanMagan<\/a>). He lived the whole contest with such emotion that it was a pleasure to see him in the final stretch. I was delighted. We got a lot of play out of his role later in the evening as we followed him around the Madrid party at the end of the event. But these are things I will leave out of this review \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The coffee, the food, everything was delicious. Talking and meeting people was the norm. It was a very cordial environment to interact with other people.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have met incredible projects. I wish I could mention everyone, but I know my memory will play tricks on me.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If I want to mention the crack of <a href=\"https:\/\/estudioecommerce.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Carlos Alvarez<\/a>, I loved his energy, two fellow countrymen: from A Coru\u00f1a, <a href=\"https:\/\/wekco.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Juan Diego Pereiro<\/a>, and from Santiago, <a href=\"https:\/\/davidcuesta.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">David Cuesta<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/daconlatecla\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Alberto S\u00e1nchez<\/a>, I laughed my head off with him. I already knew about his project: <a href=\"https:\/\/daconlatecla.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Da con la Tecla<\/a>, which is brilliant and if you want to learn <strong>typing<\/strong> and productivity, he&#8217;s a fantastic guy.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> <a href=\"https:\/\/juannunezblasco.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Juan Nu\u00f1ez Blasco<\/a>, web application developer, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inmperson.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jorge Fagundo<\/a> from the real estate world, a charming guy, I learned a lot about real estate in Madrid with him.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iedep.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Susana N\u00fa\u00f1ez<\/a>, on issues of organizational wellbeing. <a href=\"https:\/\/soynievesnavarro.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nieves Navarro<\/a> and her curious story of Village Astrologer, and her journey from Albacete to a village in Germany.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elenamadrigal.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Elena Madrigal<\/a>, a true inspiration and whom I was finally able to meet again. And <a href=\"https:\/\/decordemy.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00c1lvaro Garc\u00eda<\/a>, architect, designer, a freak of nature. Impressive all of your projects and your journey on the internet.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I had a great time talking with <strong>\u00c1lvaro, Alberto<\/strong> and <strong>Leire<\/strong>. I loved the good vibes at the <em>afterparty<\/em> and post hamburger.  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Escape_the_Office\"><\/span>Escape the Office<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It wasn&#8217;t enough with the <strong>Mastermind<\/strong>, the contest, the debates&#8230; They also explode our heads with a contest: &#8220;Escape the Office&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That&#8217;s what the second part of our accreditation code was for. We got together in groups to solve puzzles, develop a product, make an impact on networks and take selfies.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So if you check the hashtag: <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%23easinoficina23&amp;src=typeahead_click&amp;f=live\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">#EASinOffice23<\/a>, you will see some very curious photos of all the participants.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I laughed my head off. They have created something out of nothing, with incalculable value.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I want to congratulate Bosco and Maria because they did something that few people are willing to do. They have gone above and beyond, they have been detailed, dedicated and have left me with a desire to continue growing and evolving with this very special family.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>love and dedication<\/strong> they put into each of the activities was very noticeable and I want to thank them for it. I know that organizing events is not easy, it involves many challenges and a great deal of personal effort.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But being a not very active participant in the community, and not knowing many people, I felt at home from the first moment.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have enjoyed this weekend and it encourages me to participate more, to create more bonds in a community that is not afraid to evolve, and that allows the growth and support of its members.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the WordPress community we are lucky to meet very special people and projects. This SinOficina community is somewhat similar. Possibly more open (by its nature) to other profiles of digital entrepreneurs.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Thanks <\/strong>to all the SinOficina team, and especially to <strong>Bosco and Maria<\/strong> \u2764\ufe0f It has been lovely to meet the group in this way, and I will definitely be there the next meeting.
